I believe play is a powerful foundation for learning. Through child-led and inquiry-based experiences, children are encouraged to explore, create, problem solve, take risks, and develop critical thinking skills in ways that are meaningful to them.
Pocket Tots features a large natural outdoor space on half an acre with gardens, fruit trees, open-ended play materials, and chickens. Children spend a significant amount of time outdoors connecting with nature, building relationships, and engaging in experiences that inspire curiosity, imagination, and exploration.
Whether climbing, digging, painting outdoors, collecting treasures, caring for animals, or simply noticing seasonal changes, children are given opportunities to learn through authentic hands-on experiences and meaningful play.

I recognize each child as a unique individual with their own strengths, interests, ideas, and ways of learning. I strive to create an environment where children feel safe, respected, included, and genuinely valued for who they are.
Through strong relationships and responsive care, I support children in developing confidence, independence, emotional security, and meaningful connections to themselves, others, and the world around them.
I believe children thrive when they feel a true sense of belonging and know their voices, ideas, and experiences matter.

I aim to nurture a deep connection to the natural world while encouraging children to develop respect and care for the land, living things, and their community.
Through gardening, caring for animals, outdoor exploration, and everyday interactions with nature, children are invited to slow down, notice, wonder, and build reciprocal relationships with the environment around them.
My practice continues to evolve through ongoing learning and reflection around decolonization, stewardship, and honoring Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and connecting with the land.
